Bishop, Altschuler Face Off On Economic Issues at SJC

Economy, Immigration and Foreign policy discussed at Friday's debate, reports Newsday.

Congressman Tim Bishop (D-Southampton) and candidate Randy Altschuler (R-St. James) faced off Friday in a debate held at St. Joseph's College in Patchogue hosted by FIOS1.

According to a report in Newsday, the economy dominated a large portion of the discussion.

Altschuler is cited as stating he would want to reduce taxes for the middle classes, while Bishop responded that similar tax cuts are what led to the declining economy.

Also discused were immigration issues, in which Bishop is reported as stating the system needs to be reformed, and Altschuler criticized Bishop's voting record on Homeland Security Bills.
