H.E.L.P. Patchogue G.R.O.W. Community Meeting

H.E.L.P. (Help Eliminate Limited Parking)

PATCHOGUE G.R.O.W. (Guide Redevelopment of West Main)

As you know Patchogue's Historic Main Street Business District is under attack...  and at risk of being lost forever!  The Village Board has misguided the Business Community and YOU the Taxpayer!!  In place of a progressive Redevelopment Plan which included a proposed 4 Corners Hotel- we are now left with a high density Rental project with NO ADDITIONAL PARKING- in an area that is already beyond it's capacity!.... This Redevolpment will Raise your TAXES....This Redevolpment will further stress our already overburdened school system....This Revelopment will forever abandon our Main Street as a source for Community vitality and a local job generator for our Citizens...

Originally a viable project was proposed and supported by the Residents and local Businesses based on
    - a Hotel on the Four Corners
    - Adequate Parking within a Parking Tower
    - Owner Occupied Condominiums.

The Village Board unanimously granted the Developer major zoning changes and concessions based on these  promises.   Instead the developer has withdrawn all three of theses reasons for Patchogue to support the project.  The Village Board approved the final plan - with  291 rental rental apartments with only 291 parking stalls - by a four to three vote despite the objections of residents and businesses... The question remains ..... WHY.

We have hired attorneys to protect our Village from bad projects.  We want Progress - not politics - and we need your assistance and financial support in this important endeavor.

Please join us at a Community Meeting August 2, 2011 at the Patchogue Fire House at 7:00 p.m.

Sincerely,
The H.E.L.P. PATCHOGUE G.R.O.W.  Committee
