Gov. Signs Bill For Patchogue Village Sewer Money Uses

Passed bill should avail approximately $500,000 to Patchogue Village over two years, says Mayor.

Patchogue Village will now be able to use 40 percent of their surplus sewer funds to upgrade roads, sidewalks and parks.

The Infrastructure Sewer Bill was passed and signed by the governor, which will allow for the funds to be used, said Patchogue Village Mayor Paul Pontieri in an email to Patch on Friday.

The bill is listed as being sponsored by Assemblyman Dean Murray and co-sponsored by Assemblymen Steve Englebright, Philip Boyle and Michele Schmel.

Pontieri said that this will avail approximately $500,000 to the Village for various improvements over two years. Previously, the sewer funds were limited solely to improvements to the sewer system.
