LIA: Tritec Owned Buildings To Be Demolished This Summer

Tritec officials tell the Long Island Advance that all buildings on Tritec-owned land are expected to be demolished by the end of the summer. Swezey's to be last.

Tritec Real Estate Inc. officials expect that all buildings on land they own for the $100 million New Village project will be demolished by the end of the summer, reports in their May 24 issue.

The demolitions will 291 apartments, 46,000 square feet of retail space and 18,000 square feet in the Four Corners section of Patchogue Village. The plan was by the Village Board with a contentious 4-3 vote, and was held up by filed by a group of residents and business owners .

Next to be demolished according to the Advance are a home and two businesses across the street from Havens and Gordon. Robert Loscalzo, chief operating officer for Tritec, said in the report that these buildings are expected to come down over the course of three weeks due to asbestos abatement.

Also on schedule to be worked on is the annex of the , but the rest of the  is reportedly being temporarily moved near Patchogue Village's sewage treatment plant until its on the property of the .

The vacant Swezey's Department Building is reported to be the last of the buildings to come down midsummer, with the project taking another two years to complete after that.

Construction is also reported to start on a underground parking garage once the building is down.
