LIRR Adds Trains in Advance of Snowfall

An additional eight trains will leave Penn Station Wednesday evening, three on Babylon branch.

In preparation for tonight's expected five inches of snowfall, the Long Island Rail Road has added additional trains to get commuters home from New York City tonight.

The LIRR has added eight trains out of Penn Station tonight, including three more on the Babylon Branch, to help alleviate the stress potentially caused by tonight's expected winter storm.

The trains added are as follows:

  • A 2:32 p.m. train from Penn Station due in Babylon at 3:45 p.m., running express to Lynbrook and then all local stops to Babylon.
  • A 3:00 p.m. train from Penn Station due in Babylon at 4:12 p.m. with stops at Jamaica and Rockville Centre and then all local stops to Babylon.
  • A 3:31 p.m. train from Penn Station due in Babylon at 4:39 p.m., running express to Rockville Centre and then all local stops to Babylon.

The LIRR said it was not currently delayed on any of its lines. Customers should take precautions getting home and expect potential delays due to the snow.

Your barking dog complaint in North Patchogue is handled by Public Safety, Town of Broohaven. CallRead More them at 451-6161 and they will take action. The first time the owners will be warned, the next time they will receive a summons.

Don't know what the Town ordnance is, but if you live within the Village of Patchogue, I believeRead More there is a "15 minute rule" in the code. Basically, if the dog is barking for more than 15 continuous minutes, it's a violation subject to a fine. Call public safety at 475-1225. Keep in mind it's probably not their first priority (unless the dog has a bad attitude, and is carrying a weapon), but they will be responsive, eventually.
