LIRR Service Near-Normal For Monday Commuters

MTA advises a 'kiss and ride' strategy until all parking lots are cleared.

Commuting on the Long Island Rail Road may be the least stressful way to get to work or around town today given continuing complaints about unplowed roadways and icy road conditions.

The MTA is reporting that the LIRR is operating near-normal weekday service as of Monday morning though it’s still issuing an advisory that riders should expect some delays and suggesting commuters build in extra travel time.

Monday evening’s rush hour service should be a normal schedule with no planned cancellations though service remains suspended east of Speonk and Ronkonkoma and bus service is being provided between Greenport and Ronkonkoma.

While a large majority of train station parking lots have been cleared the MTA is also reporting not all are open to parking and advise commuters to ‘kiss and ride’ if possible by getting a lift to the station.
