Murray Holds 36-Vote Lead in State Assembly Race

Unofficial results give incumbent Dean Murray a slight edge over Democrat Edward Hennessey for the 3rd Assembly District seat.

Assemb. Dean Murray (R-Patchogue) is locked in a tight race with Democrat Edward Hennessey in the 3rd Assembly District.

As of 1:20 a.m. Wednesday, the Suffolk County Board of Elections, with all districts reporting, has Murray leading by 36 votes (17,762-17,726).

Those are unofficial results, however, and the race remains too close for Patch to call.
