Medford Community Forum Wednesday Night

Public invited to forum taking place at the Medford firehouse.

A Medford Community Forum, sponsored by Legis. Rob Calarco and the Medford Taxpayers & Civic Association, will be held at the Medford firehouse on Oregon Avenue Wednesday night.

Calarco, Brookhaven Town Supervisor Ed Romaine, Town Councilman Tim Mazzei and Town Councilwoman Connie Kepert will all be on hand to discuss issues with residents.

Calarco announced plans earlier this month to host a set of five town hall-style meetings throughout the 7th Legislative District over the next six months. The Medford Community Forum, which runs from 7:30-9 p.m., is the first one on the calendar.

Please note as of last night, Brookhaven Town Council members will be holding a carry over Town Board meeting starting at 5:00 PM. Their arrival at this meeting will be pending on their departure from the Town Board meeting.

Unfortunately, I am not able to attend. Maybe someone can ask these local politicians about the ban on plastic bags for yard waste effective April 1. How do they expect all Brookhaven town residents to dispose of this type of waste? I have already been to Home Depot and they did not have any large paper bags. I think this is going to be an issue once the ban becomes effective. I have already reached out to Supervisor Romaine's office and Councilman Mazzei's office, however, I have not heard back from either office.
