New Weekend Hours Underway At Holtsville Zoo

Local leaders gather at ecology park to mark new operation schedule.

Brookhaven Town Supervisor Ed Romaine, Highway Superintendent Dan Losquadro and Councilman Tim Mazzei paid a visit to the Holtsville Ecology Site and Animal Preserve to kick off its weekend hours for spring and summer last weekend.

The Brookhaven Ecology Site, Park and Animal Preserve is located at 249 Buckley Road in Holtsville and will now be open from 10 a.m. to  3 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.

  • Exercise-trail fitness course
  • Nature preserve and ecology center, featuring buffalo, bobcats, eagles, ecology exhibits and tours
  • Free compost
  • Greenhouses
  • A picnic area

On weekdays the Ecology Site and Animal Preserve is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
