Patchogue, Medford Residents Discuss Ballot Frustration, Polling Sites
Locals on their experience voting in Election 2013.
Polls have closed, and residents from Patchogue and Medford have been hitting the polls for the Tuesday election. Patch asked on the Patchogue Patch Facebook Page what residents thought of this year's polling, and here are some of the responses. Add your own thoughts in the comments below this post:
Nicole M. Johnson I voted. I was frustrated that the voter guides that I found showed six ballot questions but there were seven. At the poll site there was an info sheet about the first six questions and nothing about the seventh.
Sandy Gay Hamilton I did not like the first prop. Upstate gets the casinos but if approved we would not get any for another seven years.
Terry Ciulla @ Nicole ..I agree about the 7th proposal. Also WHY are the same candidates names on the democrat and republican party lines? Very deceiving.
Crystal Brown Kavanagh I just voted at Hagerman Fire Department. It didn't seem like there was much choice really as far as who to vote for. The polling place volunteers showed me the seven propositions on the back and it wasn't crowded at all. Only a couple other people voting this afternoon which was good for me since I had my three small kids with me.
Jacqueline Healy My husband and I went to vote late this morning at Oregon school. It was not crowded at all. We were #40 & 41 to vote in our district (ED 246) at 11:30am.....not a big turnout, hopefully more later on.
