It's a dangerous situation when people do not remove snow off the sidewalks, ESPECIALLY in a school zone. If you choose to live in the close vicinity of the school, please realize that without the sidewalks clear you are endangering the life of a child. Niemeyer Sign company on Bay Avenue has refused to clear their sidewalks all winter, therefore forcing the children into the street and to cross against the Crosswalks. There is a mountain of snow, nearly 5 feet high at the corner where our crossing Guard is stationed. The Town of Brookhaven didn't do such a great job clearing the streets , either. Virtually this street becomes a one-way road when we get weather like this. I pray no one gets injured trying to get to school. A summons should be given if you have not cleared the sidewalk within a school zone. Seriously.
