Talk Back: Should All Demolition Projects Be Suspended on Sept. 11?

Several Patchogue Village residents have commented that it was "inappropriate" for Swezey's to come down on Sept. 11, should that view be applied to all projects?

While some that it was "inappropriate" for the vacant Swezey's department store building on Sept. 11, does this also mean that all demolition projects in the United States should also be suspended on this day?

While Sept. 11 will continue to be remembered as a horrific day in American history, it however remains a business day where schools and businesses remain open. Similarly Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day (Dec. 7) is also not considered a federal holiday.

However, there are likely people that would want to consider Sept. 11 to only be a solemn day for remembrance.
