Video: Carnegie Library is on The Move

Move to the Sixth District Court property to take approximately 28 hours, says official.

The historic Carnegie Library building began its to the property from its original location on Lake Street in Patchogue Village Wednesday.

The above video features the building being moved during a press conference held Wednesday afternoon in the Lake Street parking lot.

The building is being moved to a temporary location at the Sixth District Court property, which is also expected to become its permanent location.

Frank Gray, General Superintendent of Tritec Real Estate Company, said that the move should take approximately 28 hours.

The building will start moving off of Lake Street at around midnight Wednesday night into Thursday.
