Village Approves $12.9 Million Budget For 2013-2014

Patchogue Village's budget features around a 3.69 percent tax increase.

The Patchogue Village Board of Trustees approved Monday a $12.9 million budget for 2013-2014 by a vote of 5-1 at a Budget Hearing at Patchogue Village Hall.

Village Treasurer Ronald Krawczyk said the budget is a 3.69 percent increase over the previous year.

Village Mayor Paul Pontieri said that single family homes will have a two-percent increase, two to three family homes will have a three-percent increase and a five-percent increase on homes with four plus families.

The rate is $12.90 per $100 of assessed value, up from $12.45. Krawczyk told Patch this will amount to an average of $68 per household or an increase of slightly less than $6.

Trustees Joseph Keyes, Tom Ferb, Jack Krieger, Lori Devlin and William Hilton voted to approve, trustee Gerard Crean voted against.
