Village Exploring Paperless Minutes, Video Streaming

Patchogue Village is exploring ways to further broadcast its Village Board meetings.

The possibility of bringing paperless minutes and video streaming of Patchogue Village Board of Trustees meetings was brought up at Monday's Village Board meeting at .

Trustee Lori Devlin said that she began discussion with Novus Agenda, which produces paperless solutions for meeting management.

Devlin said that should the Village decide to pursue them, trustees would potentially be able to use laptops and tablets for their documents in order to cut down on the amount of paper used.

Currently, the Village produces both paper copies of their agenda as well as a digital PDF on their website that can be viewed on computers or tablets, although during the meetings themselves the trustees and Mayor typically are using paper.

Devlin said the company also has a video conference service that would potentially allow the Village to broadcast their meetings onto the internet, and as such would be viewable by those who cannot make it to Patchogue Village Hall on the night of the meeting.
