Patchogue-Medford Superintendent Michael Locantore will stay with the district at least through 2015.
Board of Education President Thomas Donofrio told Patch Monday that the Board has added an additional year to his contract.
The Board was not ready to disclose salary numbers or other information regarding the renewal, but trustees did say that Locantore is likely one of the lowest paid superintendents in the area. According to state documents, Locantore earned a base salary of $224,000 for the 2011-12 school year.
Locantore was named the district's superintendent in 2010. He has previously served as a dean of students, assistant principal and principal at Saxton Middle School, and as co-principal of Patchogue-Medford High School during part of the 2004-05 school year.
