Children's Concert In Patchogue Fundraising For Sandy Victims

Music Together Centers holding concert Saturday, March 2 to benefit Long Beach School District.

A children's concert to fundraise for the Long Beach School District, which was devastated by Hurricane Sandy, will be taking place in Patchogue on Saturday, March 2.

The concert is being organized by Music Together Centers, and will be at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 38 W 1st St., from 3 p.m.-5 p.m.

The show is a one-hour concert that will start 30 minutes after the doors open. Performing will be teachers from several of the centers, with a guest appearance by Gerry Dignan.

A raffle will take place during the show, and proceeds from that and ticket sales will be donated to the district and earmarked for West Elementary School's Art & Music Department. According to the concert's press release, the school has not re-opened since the storm and the school district is looking at a cost of $20 million to recover and repair itself.

Tickets for the show cost $13 for adults, $8 for children over 8 months of age and can be purchased online.
