Emmanuel Lutheran Students Perform Musical

Drama Club students, alumni present a variety show

A group of Emmanuel Lutheran School students between third-and-eighth grade performed a musical show last Friday, complete with a variety of popular Broadway standards.

The musical showcased the theatrical talents of 19 students. Ten Emmanuel Lutheran alumni were also featured in the play. These students assisted with many elements of the production, including choreography and direction. Director Susan Shiebler said the students had creative license in this production and choreographed all of the numbers themselves.

The students performed over 30 numbers, including the fantastic opening; "Lullaby of Broadway" from 42nd Street and songs from the Disney hit High School Musical 2. Highlights of the show included "Anything You Can Do" from Annie Get Your Gun, performed by Jordan Rant. "HELP" by the Beatles was performed by Robert Fischetti, Nate Ormond, David Keating, and Matthew Mingino, complete with a mob of screaming fans. "Step In Time" from Mary Poppins: Valerie Nolan, who in a red jacket and black dress was dressed as Mary Poppins. The final Mystery Act was a medley of dance songs that earned the performers a standing ovation.
