A small dedication ceremony was held at Friday morning to remember those who lost their lives as a result of the 9/11 attacks in 2001.

Attended by more than 50 people, Principal Maria Andreotti and the Medford Elementary PTA dedicated a bench and memorial garden on the front lawn.

Representatives from the Patchogue-Medford School District, North Patchogue Fire Department, Sayville Fire Department, and Emergency Service Unit as well as friends and family members of the Stahlman and Maler families were present.

Eric Stahlman and Alfred Maler, Medford Elementary School alumni, both passed away on September 11, 2001 during the World Trade Center attacks.
