Pat-Med Robotics Collects 1,300 Pounds of Food for Sandy Victims

Team 329 dropped off food and $165 in donations to Island Harvest Sunday.

The Patchogue-Medford High School Robotics Team 329 did its part Sunday to help people suffering in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. 

Team members dropped off more than 1,300 pounds of food, as well as $165, in donations they collected to Island Harvest. 

That amount of food is enough to provide more than 1,900 meals to people in needs, according to Island Harvest officials.

The team collected items through a food drive they held and decided it needed to be donated right away to help people suffering from the storm's damage.
