Pat-Med Connect Ed Message On School Schedule

Patchogue-Medford School District is issuing a Connect Ed message Tuesday evening regarding the district not changing its class schedule for the 2013-2014 school year.

As previously reported, the Patchogue-Medford School District Board of Education discussed with the community at a special June 13th meeting a proposed schedule that lengthened class times by re-purposing current downtime periods in the schedule into instructional time. Superintendent Michael Locantore said at Monday's Board of Education meeting that the schedule will not be changing, and that he and assistant superintendent of curriculum Lori Cannetti are looking into the possibility of a nine-period school day that might be presented for discussion in January.

The transcript of the Connect Ed message is below:

Good Evening Patchogue-Medford Community:

This is Mr. Locantore, Superintendent of the Patchogue-Medford School District.
I am calling to inform you that there will be no change to the bell schedule beginning in September. All arrival and dismissal times will remain the same.

I would also like to thank the community for all their support throughout the year and have a happy, healthy, and safe summer.
