The Patchogue-Medford School District began the 2011-2012 school year on Wednesday.
Superintendent Michael Locantore is greeting students and walking through all of the district schools throughout the day.
Patch caught up with Locantore at where he walked through the halls and into several classrooms to talk to teachers and students.

"This year I define as the year of inspiration," Locantore said. "In tough economic times, we should aspire to inspire."
