The moving up ceremony for Oregon Middle School's eighth grade students was held Thursday at .
The auditorium was packed with proud friends and relatives while eager students filled the stage.
In a speech to those in attendance, Principal James Bertsch proudly noted that the ceremony and its meaning is an important milestone for our students.
"Middle school is a very difficult time for many kids. At no other time do their bodies and minds change so much. It's a time in which many struggle to discover who they are but it's this struggle that makes us stronger and it is your ability to be resilient that I celebrate today," Bertsch said.
After the students received their certificates, a slideshow was shown onstage and then everyone gathered in the gym for refreshments.
