The latest Babylon School District proposal to reduce budget spend to meet the state-mandated tax cap levy features eliminating seven full-time positions: three K-6 teachers, one pupil personnel services staff member, a clerical worker, one administrative position, one custodial worker and a cut back in work hours of aides and monitors. Middle school students of the Half Hollow Hills robotics team are all abuzz. The students, who are part of the district's Academically High Aptitude Program (AHAP), have discovered a new, natural preservative to keep strawberries from going bad.
