Trolley Connecting Patchogue, Bellport For Small Business Saturday Shopping

While Black Friday pushes big box shopping, the Greater Patchogue and Bellport chambers of commerce are hoping residents will keep their holiday shopping local with a big Small Business Saturday push.

According to a blog post by Greater Patchogue Chamber executive director David Kennedy, both chambers will be running a trolley Saturday between both Patchogue Village and Bellport Village from 12 p.m.-5 p.m. A trolley will leave each community at the top of each hour.

Patchogue's trolley stop will be in the Oak Street parking lot at the Patchogue Theatre walkway. Bellport's will be near Porters on the Lane and the Bellport/Brookhaven Historical Society at 31 Bellport Lane.

Both villages will have on street entertainment consisting of the St. Joseph's College Sharps Female Glee Club caroling through Patchogue Village's Main Street, the Tri Valley Brass Band performing from 2 p.m.-4 p.m. in the Capital One Plaza in Patchogue, and the Bellport School Choir as well as Bellport Boys & Girls Club Steel Drum Ensemble performing in Bellport. Bellport Village will also have a soup contest amongst local restaurants at 4:30 p.m.

Those riding the trolley will receive a booklet highlighting sales in both communities, and a free gift shopping bag.
