College Sports Notebook

St. Joseph's College participated in several ECAC Championship tournaments this past week.

Both the men's and women's soccer teams at St. Joseph's College were selected to take part in the ECAC Division III Championship Tournament this past week.

The men's team, who were ranked No. 8, fell to top-seeded Drew, 6-0, on Wednesday in Madison, New Jersey.

The women's team, just like their men counterparts, was eliminated in the quarterfinals when they fell to No. 3 FDU-Florham, 4-0.

Men's and women's cross country teams have top-20 finish

The men's team finished 12th out of 44 teams in the ECAC Championship. First-team All-Skyline Conference selection, Eric Huan, lead all SJC runners finishing in 38th place, posting a 27:16 in the 8,000-meter run.

Gillian Goodwin finished 42nd overall for the women, with a 24:34 finish time in the 6,000-meter run. The women finished 16th out of 39.

Both teams will compete in the NCAA Atlantic Regional Championships on Saturday, Nov. 13 in Oneonta.

Basketball is right around the corner

The SJC Golden Eagles open their basketball season when they host Vaughn at the Danzi Athletic Center on Thursday, Nov. 18 at 5 p.m, where they will begin their task of capturing another Skyline Conference Championship to place next to their '08-09 title.
