In the last eight seconds Patchogue-Medford defeated Newfield 55-51 thanks to two last minute free throws by team captain Sevi Ford Thursday night.
Pat-Med Raiders scored first and took an early but small lead. Struggling to keep up a good defense, they quickly started battling the Wolverines point for point throughout the first half. Raiders went into the half-time break with a losing score of 22-25. Raiders kept up with and eventually took the lead from the Wolverines, with Ford's free throws clinching the victory.
"Two free throws at the end is what made the game" said Raider Coach Will Dortonne. Dortonne said that despite injuries and setbacks the Raiders came out with some major wins this season.
