Patchogue Athlete Earns Elite 89 Award
Kristen McMahon of Dowling College wins NCAA Division II Women's Basketball award.
Kristen McMahon, a member of Dowling's College women's basketball team from Patchogue, was selected as the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II women's basketball Elite 89 award for the 2013 Elite 8 Championship.
McMahon, a sophomore at Dowling, received the award prior to the start of the tournament.
According to a release from the school, McMahon is a spanish major that also carries a 4.0 GPA. She has played in 27 games this season, totaling 42 points, 49 rebounds and 10 assists.
