Pat-Med Basketball: Boys Lose, Girls Victorious Over Weekend

Girls Varsity Hoops team beats Riverhead on Saturday to help improve overall record.

Both the Boys and Girls Varsity Basketball teams were in action for Patchogue-Medford over the past weekend, with mixed results.

The Boys squad dropped its game to a tough Brentwood team 69-47 in a league game on Friday night. James Conklin and Matt Windsor led the scoring for the Raiders; Conklin with 14 points and Windsor with 6, but it was not enough to overcome Brentwood, who had three players score in the double-digits. Pat-Med drops to 4-6 in league play.

The Lady Raiders, however, fared much better as Annie Murray scored 12 points and Kelly Minicozzi chipped in with 8 points to help overcome Riverhead 45-34 in a non-league game on Saturday. Corrina Ferrante and Madison Ostrick also contributed with 7 points apiece. Ferrante also had 5 assists in the win. The Patchogue-Medford girls squad is 2-7 in league play; 4-10 overall.
