Patchogue-Medford Raiders Varsity Boys Lacrosse lost Thursday's playoff game to the Sachem North Boys Lacrosse team at Sachem North High School.

For the Raiders, this game was the first time the team has made the playoffs since 2007.

Sachem had dominated the faceoff circle and scored five goals before the Raiders gained a possession en route to a 17-3 victory in the opening round of the Suffolk Class A playoffs.

Sachem won 15 faceoffs in total and the Arrows got scoring contributions from all parts of the field including Jimmy Hoffman, Nick Haiduk, Nick Gutmann and Sean O'Brien.

Patch will have more on the game later. Sachem North advances to play Smithtown West.
