It's been over a decade since the boys on the Patchogue-Medford varsity bowling team could call themselves champions. After this season, they're hoping they can call themselves champions once again. After finishing No. 2 overall in League III play last season, the Raiders feel they have a good chance at taking the title this upcoming winter.
"Right now I have five solid kids," said head coach Bob Sconone, who is returning four of his five starters from last season. "We're in a brutal division, though."
The Raiders, who bowl in League III, will face tough schools such as, Riverhead, Sachem East and Longwood.

Michael Lebrecht on the 2010-11 season: "I think we're going to do pretty well, I think we have a strong team. We have a good core. We haven't really lost too much [from last season], we have a good chance at getting second place again."
