A benefit for the family of Christopher White, the Medford resident who was killed on his motorcycle on Veteran’s Highway in Bohemia in September after helping escort a group of WWII veterans to MacArthur, is taking place at The Emporium in Patchogue in November.
According to Boots On The Ground NY, a veterans advocacy group of which White was a member, the event is taking place on Nov. 24 at 1 p.m.-6 p.m. at the 9 Railroad Ave. venue.
According to the event page, White was 44 and has three boys, ages 4, 7 and 8, and also leaves behind his wife, Dottie.
The event is another fundraiser for helping support White’s family, which is in addition to a online donation and dedication page titled “Christopher White’s Family Fund.” As of this writing, the GiveForward page has raised $23,250 out of a $50,000 goal, with 100 days left.
The November event has a $20 suggested donation, and includes live bands, raffles, auctions and buffet among other activites. Tickets can be purchased online at the Boots On The Ground NY website.
