Medford Elementary Students Help Fight Blood Cancers

Program encourages students to donate their spare change in order to help children living with blood cancers.

This was posted by Michael Sorrentino. It was contributed to Patch by Patchogue-Medford School District.

This past March, Medford Elementary School's "Medford Leaders" club co-advised by Mrs. Rebecca Galaris, held a "Pennies for Patients" coin drive in collaboration with the Long Island chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

This program encourages students to donate their spare change in order to help children living with blood cancers.

After one month of coin collecting, Medford Elementary School raised $1,111.85, surpassing their goal of $1,000.00! Great job!

Thank you to all who participated in this event.
