Medford Housing Nonprofit Gets Grant

Concern For Independent Living receiving money for their work for veterans with disabilities.

Medford-based organization Concern For Independent Living is receiving $25,000 from the Long Island Community Foundation based in Syosset.

The foundation is giving a total of $607,000 in grants to 31 local nonprofits for projects ranging from protecting waterways in Riverhead to teaching students in Hempstead about spending money, says a release from the organization.

According to the release, Concern For Independent Living helps formerly homeless veterans with mental health problems to find safe and more permanent housing.
