Third Anniversary Vigil For Marcelo Lucero on Sunday

Ceremony will be at the St. Francis de Sales R.C. Church at 2:30 p.m.

A of the murder of Marcelo Lucero will take place at the Parish Hall at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday.

The ceremony is organized by Marcelo's brother, Joselo Lucero, and is open to the public.

The vigil will kick off the "Understanding, Accepting and Respecting Cultural Differences Week" designated by Suffolk County to take place from Nov. 5-12.

Following the vigil, a procession will take place to the intersection of Railroad Avenue and Unity Place, where Marcelo as part of hate crimes. Prayers and songs in his memory will be performed at the location.

Also on display will be the traveling exhibit, "Embracing our Differences," featuring a series of banners on display in front of South Ocean Middle School, 225 S. Ocean Ave. One of the banners on display is in memory of Marcelo Lucero. The crafted by Patchogue residents in Marcelo Lucero's memory will also be on display at the Parish Hall.
