Sandy Community Gathering, Halloween Happenings On Main Street Among This Week's Best

Garlic planting workshop, kid-friendly Halloween events also this week in Patchogue.

This week will be the one year anniversary of Superstorm Sandy flooding through Patchogue Village, as well as Halloween festivities throughout the week.

For Tuesday's anniversary, the Greater Patchogue Community Organization in Disaster (COAD) will be holding a "Community Gathering in Recognition of the Anniversary of Superstorm Sandy" at 380 Bay Ave. from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. on Tuesday in the Patchogue Village Parks and Recreation Community Center.

On Thursday, the Greater Patchogue Chamber of Commerce will hold their Halloween Happenings on Main Street event where children can go trick-or-treating to a number of Patchogue Village businesses from 3 p.m.-6 p.m. Children will also be in a quest to collect 10 tokens to exchange for a prize. At the end of the week on Friday, Patchogue-Medford Raiders varsity football will head to Sachem High School North, 212 Smith Rd. in Lake Ronkonkoma, to play the Flaming Arrows at 7:30 p.m. for the final regular season game of the season.

Long Island Ukulele Society: Group meeting at 38 W. 1st Street at 7:30 p.m.

Wednesday

Safe Halloween Bash at St. Joseph's College!: Safe party for elementary school students taking place at the college's quad with a spooky trail on the baseball field. Admission is $5 per child.

Thursday

Children's Halloween party: Krazy Kids of Medford at 3235 Horseblock Rd. in Medford is holding a party from 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m.
