Caring for the Caregiver Support Group

Caring for a seriously ill loved one takes an enormous amount of energy, time, compassion and love. This ongoing support group for caregivers will be held every second and fourth Saturday of the month at 9:30 a.m. at Caroline Church Parish House, 1 Dyke Rd. Setauket 11733, tel.  631-941-4245.  The program is non-sectarian, non disease specific and open to everyone in the community. Sat. 9:30 a.m. Caroline Church.

Holiday Craft Fair

Transitions Saxophone Quartet

Come to the library and enjoy some great music! The Lou Cooley Lung Cancer Fundraiser will be held Friday, Nov. 22 at 7 p.m. at Land’s End in Sayville.

The Bay Area Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Dr. Richard Wright, presents Czech Mates, music by Dvorak and Smetana, on Saturday, November 23, at 7:30 PM at Sayville High School.  The concert is free, but donations are accepted.

Christmas Holiday Boat Parade

The 20th annual boat parade will be taking place this weekend along Patchogue Village’s riverfront. A preview night Saturday from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. will allow residents to view the boats and vote for awards. Boats can be viewed from The Oar, 264 West Avenue in Patchogue, Harbor Crab, 116 Division St. in Patchogue, and Off Key Tikki, 31 Baker Place in Patchogue. The parade itself will take place Sunday around 6 p.m. and can be viewed from Sandspit Park: Davis Park Ferry Terminal on Brightwood St. or Fire Island National Seashore: Watch Hill Ferry Terminal on West Ave. More information is available at www.patchogueboatparade.com.

1st Annual Wounded Warrior Project Airborne 5K Run/Walk

Race taking place at Shorefront Park near Smith St. and Rider Ave. in Patchogue Village is taking place Saturday at 9 a.m. Day of race registration is taking place at 8:30 a.m. and is a minimum $25 donation.

Saxton Middle School Craft and Vendor Fair

Fair taking place at Saxton Middle School, 121 Saxton St. in Patchogue, Saturday from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Photos with Santa are taking place from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

"Clara's Dream, The Nutcracker"

American Dance Theatre of Long Island will be performing "Clara's Dream, The Nutcracker" at The Patchogue Theatre for The Performing Arts, 71 E. Main St. in Patchogue, Sunday at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. Tickets are $15-$32.

Opera in Cinema: The Magic Flute
