The book to be discussed is "1912 Wilson, Roosevelt, Taft & Debs- The Election that changed the Century". Coming on the heels of Election Day 2013, this book makes for a great read and discussion. Much of the material in the book has relevance to today, particularly the understanding of politics and history, Should make for a lively debate. Light refreshments will be served. Mohawk Mountain Ski Area is proud to present the latest Warren Miller film, TICKET TO RIDE, in the lodge at Mohawk Mountain on Friday, November 8 and Saturday November 9, at 7:00 p.m. The newest chapter in the legendary film series will take filmgoers on an action-packed journey with the world's best skiers and snowboarders. Witness athletes at their career-best, and discover the path that put them at the top of the steepest peak in the 64th annual ski and snowboard film, Ticket to Ride. All seating is general admission, and is $12.00 per person.
On Thursday at 6:30 p.m. head over to the Wang Center Theater- Confucius Institute at Stony Brook University for a screening of "Ip Man", the action packed martial arts film based on the life of Wilson Yip, mentor and teacher of legendary martial artist Bruce Lee. Wilson Yip is considered the modern grandmaster of the martial art Wing Chun.

Stand up comedy comes to the Velvet Lounge in Setauket Thursday at 8:30 p.m.
Chris D'Orso and North at Grounds and Sounds Cafe
Grounds and Sounds will feature Chris D'Orsoand Pete Kata. Chris and friends will be covering tunes from Moxy Fruvous to Butch Walker. The second set features North, with a signature blend of progressive and pop rock since 1995. Friday 8 p.m.
The Harvest Moon Basket Raffleis being held by the St. James' Ministry of Consolation to benefit the renovation of the kitchen used by our Daily Bread. Tickets are $10 per person, which includes: 5 raffle tickets and refreshments of wine, cheese, coffee and dessert. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday and numbers called at 7:45 p.m. Please come and support this wonderful event! Tickets can be purchased after masses or at the door.
Come skate with your favorite Derby girls. It's your turn to skate with the Revolution! Head to World Gym Arena and get to know you favorite Strong Island Derby Revolution roller derby players, ask questions, take photos with the team and get your skate on while listening to music from our DJ! All ages welcome. Kids under 6 free! This is a non-contact event. Admission: $10 at the door. Sat. 7 p.m.

The Suffolk County Division III football playoffs kick off this week and the Sayville varsity squad is sitting at the No. 7 seed in the division. That means the Golden Flashes will be traveling to Islip on Friday night at 7 p.m. to take on the No. 2 seed in the division.
St. Ursula Center’s annual Holiday Craft Fair
Held on November 9 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the St Ursula Center, 186 Middle Rd, Blue Point. Homemade crafts, delicious baked goods, raffle baskets, 50/50 raffle and more.
Live Music At The Library
Bayport-Blue Point Library will host a special program Nov. 10 at 2 p.m. featuring talented local piano player and composer, J. K. Hodge as he brings his unique take on music and film to this dynamic performance. This is a free event.

Sachem North Football Play Northport In Playoffs
Sachem High School North’s varsity football team takes on Northport in the first round of playoffs Friday at 7 p.m. at the home field at 212 Smith Rd. in Lake Ronkonkoma.
Zumba fundraiser taking place at Unique Fitness, 1191 Portion Rd in Farmingville, Sunday at 12 p.m. Registration starts at 11:30 a.m. and class starts at 12 p.m. Minimum donation is $10 for the class.

Patchogue-Medford Football Play William Floyd In Playoffs
Raiders will be taking on William Floyd at the Lincoln Avenue Sports Complex in Mastic Beach Saturday at 1 p.m. for their first round of the playoffs.
Documentary Film: Cutie and the Boxer
Film about the marriage of a “boxing” painter and his artist wife will be screening at Plaza Cinema and Media Arts Center in Patchogue at various times Nov. 8-9 and 11.
