Mom and pop stores are a thing of the past, we have to go to Medford or go to Centereach (UGH) toRead More find box stores, the south shore doesn't have it anymore and people are being chased to the big box stores...

Depends on what the businesses' sell. Am I going to Blums and spending $60.00 on a bathing suit orRead More going to Target and spending $15.99? Am I going to the health food store in town and spending 19.99 on vitamins or getting a similar product at target for 6.99? Isn't it my choice in the end?

target is more than that!!!!!! And it will have an impact on the small business as all box storesRead More do.................people will get in that store and by more than toilet and grocery items....It will impact CVS and Walgreens as well......just as the walmarts, kmarts do...that why downtowns and small business go out......look around

I wish them luck. I think the one on South Ocean may have failed in part because of their location.Read More Main Street seems a better place for this type of business.

Patchogueorbust: It's not, it's definitely on East Main Street. It's east of North Ocean next to theRead More Route 112 intersection.

You're taking the issue and comment too seriously, move on.

Its a full name Chris, not my soc sec # or banking info. Relax, and dont be so paranoid, that's likeRead More saying reporters shouldn't post the full name of their subjects or people being interviewed. The difference about saying something while your not invisible is that you stand behind your statements and show a bit more integrity than making hit and run comments. And stupid? Hope that made you feel better.
Chris K May 3, 2013 at 01:15 pm
It's the internet, you're stupid for publicly displaying your personal info on it - A first name isRead More sufficient. I think the new project is an excellent improvement to the sweezy building. It will be excellent for local businesses - that's many more residents who will be new customers.

Well first of all I want to say this is a real loss for Patchogue Village but retirement is whatRead More everyone does hope for so I am glad for Gail that she has gotten her wish. I make it a practice to regularly attend meeting of the Patchogue Village Board of Trustees. Over the past four years or so I have seen and heard Gail speak on behalf of the business community many times. The community could have had no better a representative. Cheerleader, advocate, town crier she has held many roles when speaking before the Board. She has helped make the Chamber an important resource for businesses by professionalizing it and helping to bring in grants. Always excited about new openings, and always concerned about the health of Patchogue Village too. Without a strong village she knew that business interests would suffer. Again I wish her well.
