Patchogue Assisted Living Resident's Son Gives Painting To Center

Artwork donated is re-creation of "Louisa in the Outside Studio."

Marc Salmin, of Northport, recently donated a painting he created to McPeak's Assisted Living in Patchogue in appreciation of the way the they take care of his father, Alex, who has been living at the facility since 2011.

According to a release from McPeak's Assisted Living, Salmin re-created "Louisa in the Outside Studio," an artwork originally done by William Starkweather.

“I recreated this painting because I admire William Starkweather’s work. He is not a very well-known artist, but he was influenced by other famous Impressionist painters the same way I was influenced by him,” Salmin said in the release. “I donated this painting to show my appreciation to the McPeak’s staff. I could not have asked for a better assisted living facility to take care of my father.”

The facility's owner, James McPeak, said in the statement that they are grateful for the gift.

McPeak's Assisted Living is located at 286 N. Ocean Ave. in Patchogue.
