Pat-Med Library Under New Leadership

Lauren Nichols now at the helm, drafts introductory blog on Patch.

The Patchogue-Medford Library said goodbye this week to outgoing Executive Library Director Dina McNeece Chrils and hello to the new Executive Director Lauren Nichols, who ushered in the new era with a blog post on Patchogue Patch.

"Dina made her mark in the community through her vivacious personality, never ending service, and by leading our staff towards earning a National Medal of Honor. We will miss her!" Nichols stated in the blog post. "I am delighted for the opportunity to follow in Dina's footsteps and will ensure that the Patchogue-Medford Library continues to secure a reputation for superior library service."

McNeece-Chrils earned a National Medal for Museum and Library Science in 2010. She traveled to Washington D.C. in December of that year to be presented with the medal directly by First Lady Michelle Obama.

Nichols inherits an $8.3 million budget, which passed in April by a nearly 2-to-1 margin.
