Battle of the Burger Coming To Shorefront Park August 4

Food event hosted by Long Island Pulse magazine features burgers throughout the region.

One Long Island burger is going to be crowned the best at the first Battle of the Burger event taking place at Shorefront Park in Patchogue Village on August 4.

The event is being hosted by Long Island Pulse magazine, and will feature ten finalists whom will be voted on by attendees at the event. According to the website for the event, the winner will get an all expense paid trip to the 2014 South Beach Food and Wine Festival.

Among the finalists are two Patchogue restaurants, PeraBell Food Bar and Reese's 1900 Pub. The former restaurant is in the top 10, and the latter is a Amstel Light Wild Card Pick.

Also up for consideration is Burger Bite in West Hempstead, Burger Shack in Coram, Fatty McGee's in East Islip, Legend's in New Suffolk, Mirabelle Tavern in Stony Brook, Mitch & Toni's in Albertson, Old Fields in Greenlawn and Pentimento in Stony Brook.

Tickets to the event are $25 for general admission and $50 for VIP, both include access to tasting the burgers from the top ten restaurant chefs.
