Police: E. Patchogue Mom Killed In Crash

Daughter arrested for reckless driving, police said.

A 71-year-old East Patchogue mother died Saturday afternoon from a two-car crash at the intersection of Horseblock Road and Montauk Highway in Brookhaven Hamlet, and Suffolk County Police say her daughter who drove the car has been arrested on charges of reckless driving.

According to police, Jessica Pistolese, 38 of Mastic, was driving a 2004 Chevy Malibu westbound on Montauk Highway when her vehicle struck a 2011 Chrysler 300 being driven by Aide Marichal at around 3:55 p.m. Marichal, 51 of Mastic, was traveling southbound on Horseblock Road and attempted to make a left turn onto Montauk Highway when she was struck by Pistolese’s vehicle, police said.

Judith Rivera, Pistolese’s mother, was sitting in the front passenger seat of her daughter’s car and was pronounced dead by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner. Both Pistolese and Marichal were transported to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue for non-life threatening injuries and have since been released, police said.
