Superintendent Not Recommending Schedule Change In July, August

Feedback currently being accepted by district on proposed Patchogue-Medford bell schedule that may have earlier school days with longer instructional periods.

While a vote for a proposed Patchogue-Medford School District schedule with an earlier bus arrival and longer instructional periods may happen on June 24, Superintendent Michael Locantore said at Thursday’s special Patchogue-Medford School District Board of Education meeting that he will not be recommending any schedule changes any later than that.

“You are not going to hear in July or August that there may be a change,” Locantore said. “I’m not going to say to you in July or August 15, by the way the bell schedule has changed, that is not going to happen.”

Locantore continued to say that Thursday’s purpose was to have a community forum on the proposed schedule, and that feedback given by residents is being heard. Assistant superintendent of curriculum Lori Cannetti said during the meeting that residents can send additional feedback on the proposed schedule to her email address: LCannetti@pmschools.org .
