Eric Stahlman was one of 700 employees that worked as a broker for Cantor Fitzgerald in the World Trade Center.
On 9/11, Stahlman, age 43 at the time, was among those killed in the attacks that destroyed the Twin Towers, leaving behind a wife, two children and his parents.
Stahlman grew up in Patchogue in a home that his father, Sam Stahlman, built himself.
“It’s always on my mind, he went to work and never came home,” Sam said about what happened to his son.
Sam and his wife Renee are planning on attending the 9/11 Memorial ceremony in New York City this year.
Renee said that her grandchildren and hobbies such as going to the gym and yoga help her cope during September.
Eric’s daughter was age six and son age four on 9/11. Renee said her grandchildren has been attending a camp for children who lost a parent in 9/11.
"I know the little guy misses their father a lot," Renee said.
A memorial for Eric Stahlman is placed at both and in front of South Ocean Middle School in Patchogue.
