Gift Store The Shoppe Opens in Patchogue

Shop features handcrafted work of local artists.

Shoppers got a jump start on holiday shopping at the recent opening of Patchogue's newest gift shop, The Shoppe.

Owned by Dawn Wakiya, a designer at WH Design Studio, and her mother Sharon Henson, also an artist, The Shoppe sells the work of local artisans along with candles, jewelry, wine bags and ornaments.

Most items are priced below $50 and many are constructed using recycled and repurposed material. To make shopping at the boutique store even more affordable, visitors can donate materials to the artists and receive a discount on their purchases.
