Locantore Named Next Superintendent

Former principal returns to Patchogue-Medford.

Michael Locantore was named the next Superintendent for the Patchogue-Medford School District on Thursday.

Locantore replaces Michael Mostow, who is retiring at the end of this month.

"It's a very humbling experience to return to the community and to give back," said Locantore following the Board of Educaton meeting where he was named the next superintendent.

Locantore graduated from Patchogue-Medford High School in 1973.  He has previously served as a dean of students, assistant principal and principal at Saxton Middle School, and as co-principal of Patchogue-Medford High School during part of the 2004-2005 school year. Locantore is currently the assistant superintendent for human resources at Eastern Suffolk BOCES.
