Vintage Patchogue: South Ocean Middle School, 1929

The present-day middle school was originally the high school.

South Ocean Middle School was originally Patchogue High School when it first opened.

An postcard image depicting the school in 1929 is currently listed on an eBay listing.

Patchogue-Medford School District's clerk Dennis Logan told Patch that the former Patchogue High School opened in 1925 and operated as such until the building now known as Saxton Middle School became the new high school in 1957.
