April 30-May 1: Relay For Life Fundraisers, 5k Races

Here are 5 things to know about in the Patchogue and Medford area this weekend! Check the events section for more.

1. Relay For Life Fundraisers
Fundraiser events for the upcoming Relay For Life will take place Saturday in at at 10 a.m. and in at Medford Memorial Park at 1 p.m.

2. 5K Races
Two 5k races will take place Sunday morning in Patchogue. The race will start at 8 a.m. at 46 River Ave., and a will start at at 10 a.m. These are race start times. Check the event pages for check-in times and registration information.

3. , , 363 Grove Ave, Patchogue, 2 p.m.-6 p.m.
The annual burning of winter socks to welcome the 2011 boating season will take place at the restaurant.

4. , Medford Fire Department Main House, 171 Oregon Ave, Medford, Sunday 4 p.m.-7 p.m.
A community pasta dinner sponsored by the Medford Fire Department Ladies Auxilary will take place. Tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for children ages 2-12 and free for children under age 2.

5. , , 70 W Main St, Patchogue, 3 p.m.-6 p.m.
A fundraiser concert for "Guitars 4 Troops", an organization that sends guitars to members of the armed forces, will take place. Admission is $10.
