Medford Civic Hosting Community Planning Speakers Wednesday

The Medford Taxpayers and Civic Association (MTCA) are holding a Wednesday meeting with three speakers on the subject of community planning at the Medford Fire Department, 171 Oregon Avenue in Medford.

The Medford Taxpayers and Civic Association (MTCA) are holding a Wednesday meeting with three speakers on the subject of community planning at the Medford Fire Department, 171 Oregon Avenue in Medford, at 7:30 p.m.

The meeting titled, "Turning Planning Upside Down" will include presentations from Dan Gulizo, Doug Swesty and Kevin McAllister.

Gulizo is a former deputy planning commissioner for Nassau and Suffolk and is the executive director of "Community Planning Center." According to the organization's release, Gulizo will discuss how Medford, Brookhaven and Long Island's environment and communities have changed over the years.

Swesty, from the Stony Brook University Department of Physics-Astronomy, and McAllister, head of Peconic Bay Keeper, will be discussing with Gulizo how to preserve qualify of life on Long Island according to the flyer.

Don Seubert of the MTCA told Patch that the meeting is open to the public.
